Animal Crossing: Wild World

Nintendo is one of the leading forces in innovative and creative video games today. But, even some of the most hard-core fans were not to sure about animal crossing when it was first released. You wouldn’t describe animal crossing as a normal game, it’s a life simulation but with a bit of role-playing added to it, all of this in a cute little world filled with talking cartoony animals where you have to live by peforming little tasks for your neighbours. All this sounds boring and uneventful as this sounds it was one of the most playable and enjoyable games on the gamecube. Now, Nintendo has decided to bring this addictive game to the portable world. Animal Crossing DS is mre addictive than chocolate, and it lasts a lot lot longer.

The start of Wild World is identical to that of Animal Crossing for the ’cube. You, a young human have left you mum and dad to live in a new town. The starting sequence is you in a cab with a salty fellow named kapp’n (those who have played the ’cube version will recognize him). He ask’s you a few question to set up the game, and these questions will determine your gender and your appearence as well as the name of your town, so choose wisely. Once you have arrived in town you will be greeted by the local skop keeper. Tom Nook. This business minded young racoon, turns out to own some real estate in the town, and puts you up in a nice new home, for free, well, you’ll have to pay him back of course, and thats were the adventure starts.

The tasks and methods for making money are basically that of the’cube version. These tasks include catching bugs and fish, digging up fossils and generally running erands for the townsfolk. Basically these tasks work the same as on the ’cube version, not neding much skill, except of course the reflexions you’ll need for catching bugs and fish. There are not many changes, but the ones made are for the better. For instance in the ’cube version you would have to send them of, where as on the DS version you just take them to local fossil boffin Blathers the owl at the town mueseum and ge them instantly recognized there. When catching fish, you’ll have to listen for a specific audio cue, instead of relying on the gameubes rumble function.

However, the earning of mone isn’t what makes this game appealing. What does is the customization features. You can totally customize your home, fancy orange sofas, you got it, fancy a whopping great big radio, you got it. It’s what makes animal cossing addictive. You earn money so you can get a bigger home or some new furniture. when you’ve got that, you want a matching wallpaper so you save up for that. Its endless. It makes animal crossing wild world not just a long game but an endless one. And then there’s the multiplayer function, visit your friends town, when he is on the other side of the world, the online function makes this possible. To make this simple, this is the most fun you’ll get for your money, and it’s everlasting. And now, it’s portable.
