Wii Lounge Minisites & Domains

In an effort to grow and expand Wii Lounge we have recently acquired to small Nintendo Wii informational sites. These two sites contain information on the Wii hardware and software and other useful information.

Additionally we have also acquired some extra Nintendo Wii domain names which we believe will be benefit our cause. These domains all forward to the Wii Lounge homepage.

Wii Web Browser

In an interview with Cubed3 recently, a Nintendo official has revealed some information about the Nintendo Wii and it's internet capabilities.

Nintendo has teamed up with Opera, one of the leading internet browser companies to provide an innovative internet browser for the Nintendo Wii. Unlike the Nintendo DS, the Wii will not require an additional memory card to store information like cookies, all this is controlled in the main memory of the console. On top of this, the browser will be harnessing the motion sensing capabilities of the 'Wii-mote' and therefore the browser will be gesture controlled.

This takes Nintendo's aim of supplying gaming to everyone to the next level by offering people the ability to browse the internet from the comfort of their armchair. More details soon.

Next/New generation console sizes!

Here are the size's of current and next (or in the wii's case new) generation consoles in respect to each other. It's amazing how small the wii is compared to the larger xbox360 and PS3.

Rumoured Launch Date

An independent Nintendo site has reported that a Nintendo insider has revealed the projected launch date for the Nintendo Wii. According to the source, Nintendo is targetting a worldwide release date of November 6th. He went on to state that this is just a projected date as they will not have an exact date until they deem that the Nintendo Wii is ready.
